1. Introduction

Welcome to Handwriting Eraser ("we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.

2. Service Description

Handwriting Eraser is an AI-powered service that removes handwritten text from images and PDF pages while preserving printed text. Our Service allows you to:

  • Upload single images for handwriting removal
  • Batch upload multiple images for processing
  • Upload PDF files for page-by-page handwriting removal
  • Use PDF tools (split, merge, convert to images)

Your uploaded original images or PDFs are not persisted — files exist only in server memory during processing and are released immediately after. Processed results (cleaned images) are stored temporarily in object storage and automatically deleted after up to 3 days. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, WEBP, and PDF.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of our Service, you may be required to create an account. When creating an account, you must:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Promptly update your account information to keep it accurate
  • Accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our sole discretion.

4. Credits & Billing

  • We use a credit-based billing system. Free credits are granted upon registration, and additional credits can be obtained through subscriptions or one-time credit packs.
  • One-time credit pack credits do not expire; subscription credits keep accumulating while the subscription remains active.
  • Single image processing costs 1 credit; PDF processing charges per page (only selected pages consume credits).
  • Subscription plans renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing cycle. Users can cancel from within the product or through the payment provider's customer portal.
  • Payments are processed securely through Creem; Creem may act as the merchant of record for transactions, including payment processing, taxes, invoices, refunds, and chargebacks. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in our Refund Policy.
  • You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
  • Use automation scripts, bots, or automated tools to access the service at scale
  • Reverse engineer, crack API protocols, or access the service programmatically
  • Upload images containing sensitive personal information or inappropriate content

Prohibited Content

You are strictly prohibited from uploading, processing, or attempting to erase any of the following (regardless of whether the content is covered, blurred, or cropped). Violation of this section constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination without refund:

  • Pornographic, sexually explicit, nude, or any sexually suggestive content (NSFW), whether involving real persons, illustrations, or AI-generated imagery.
  • Any sexualized, nude, or exploitative content depicting minors (persons under 18 years of age).
  • Deepfake, face-swap, face-manipulation, or any image processing used to impersonate another person's identity.
  • Intimate imagery, identity documents, or identifiable personal information of any third party uploaded without their explicit consent.
  • Imagery promoting hatred, violence, terrorism, self-harm, or illegal activities.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Content used to forge, tamper with, or alter signed contracts, financial instruments, checks, certificates, exam scores, official documents, or any legal instruments. This Service is intended solely for legitimate purposes such as organizing printed materials, study resources, and archival scans, and must not be used for fraud, cheating, or any purpose intended to mislead others.

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice, and may report violations to the relevant authorities as required by law.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Handwriting Eraser and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content. We do not permanently store processed images.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL HANDWRITING ERASER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE AFFECTED TRANSACTION GIVING RISE TO THE DISPUTE.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Handwriting Eraser and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Violations of these terms, including unauthorized use of automation scripts, may result in account suspension or termination and may affect refund eligibility.

10. Privacy Policy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs the Site and informs users of our data collection practices.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide notice prior to any new terms taking effect. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

These Terms do not limit non-waivable consumer protection rights under the laws that apply where you live. If a dispute cannot be resolved through communication, it will be handled under applicable law and by a competent authority.
